From juzer.lotya at ucd.ie Wed Dec 5 10:17:39 2007 From: juzer.lotya at ucd.ie (Juzer Lotya) Date: Wed, 05 Dec 2007 10:17:39 +0200 Subject: [Pardus-users] Installing packages from source code Message-ID: Dear Pardus users, I have tried installing R-2.6.1 from http://www.r-project.org/. I could not copy the package to usr/local/bin directory in Pardus. This meant I could not launch it as an application. Any advice on installing non_Pardus packages from source code? Also would it be worth while including R as a binary for Pardus? Juzer Lotya Statistician School of Public Health & Population Science University College Dublin Belfield, Dublin 4, Ireland. Hi, R and rkward are already in Pardus 2007 repositories. You can install them with package-manager. Also you can build R using pisi sources here: http://svn.pardus.org.tr/pardus/devel/programming/languages/R/ You may modify them and build a pisi package from these files by "pisi build pspec.xml" command. -- U?ur ?etin
